Day 5 Nervous System Reset - Entering Stillness Part I

My loves,

Welcome to Day 5 of our 7 day nervous system reset!

Today I’m encouraging you to enter into stillness through a short guided meditation practice. Meditation is a great way of stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system and helps to restore feelings of calm and balance in our ventral vagal complex. Please note that if you are feeling a lot of active sympathetic nervous system energy then this style of practice may not be conducive, depending on your level of activation. If this is the case for you, I’ve found that sitting and reciting a mantra of choice is far more beneficial until we feel the energy begin to lessen.

Just as with the breath, there is so much to be said for the practice of meditation but my intention isn’t to try and convince you of the benefits - I’d like you to try it out and discover the effects it has for yourself. But, in short, meditation has been proven to reduce stress, manage anxiety, enhance self-awareness, increase attention span, decrease blood pressure, and improve sleep.

For all of the above reasons, meditation is a key practice in yoga, but it’s also an essential practice for expanding our conscious awareness to help us connect with our Essence Nature.

I hope you enjoy.
